MANCHESTER, N.H. – No. 29 Southern New Hampshire University remained unbeaten in Northeast-10 women's tennis play with a 9-0 victory over Assumption College Thursday afternoon. The Penmen, who have now won 26 straight NE-10 regular season matches, improved to 10-2 and 9-0 in the league, while Assumption is 4-7 and 4-5 in Northeast-10 action.
In singles action, SNHU's top two players took straight-set victories, as Amber Chandronnait (Bow, N.H.) and Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) were 6-0, 6-0 winners at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Chandronnait also teamed up with Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Senior Meaghan Houghton (Manchester, N.H.) saw her first dual match action of the season and was an 8-1 winner at No. 6 singles.
Southern New Hampshire travels to Stonehill College (12-1, 8-0) for a battle of Northeast-10 unbeaten and a rematch of last season's NE-10 championship match. The match is slated for a 3:00 start.
