SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Southern New Hampshire women's tennis team defeated Le Moyne College Sunday by a score of 9-0 to extend its undefeated league record to 3-0. The Penmen are now 2-1 overall, while the Dolphins are 1-5 overall and 1-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
In the No. 1 singles position, Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) defeated Rebecca Black with set scores of 6-0 and 6-2. Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) blanked Kristine Kenny in the second singles position 6-0, 6-0, and Amanda Albuquerque (Weymouth, Mass.) knocked off Dominique Canale with sets cores of 6-1 and 6-2.
SNHU freshman Elizabeth Worth (Long Valley, N.J.) made her debut as a Penmen in a consolation singles match while notching a 8-6 win.
In doubles competition, Mukdaprakorn and Vamvakitis paired up to defeat Black and Canale with an 8-0 score. The No. 2 duo of Albuquerque and Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) beat Le Moyne's Margaret LaFleur and Jessica Geary 8-2, and the No. 3 doubles position defeated the Dolphins 8-0.
The Penmen return to action tomorrow when they travel to Saint Rose College for a Northeast-10 Conference match.
