Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team was knocked off by Saint Anselm Tuesday night in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hawks defeated the Penmen 3-1 with game scores of 25-21, 25-23. 16-25, and 25-23. SNHU is now 9-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play, while the Hawks sit at 6-9 overall and 2-3 in the league.
Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) powered both ends of the court for the Penmen while notching 14 kills and 16 digs. Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) added 12 kills to the Penmen offense along with two blocks defensively.
Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) recorded a match-best 43 assists and added 19 digs for the Penmen, and Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) totaled 15 digs in the libero position while also serving two aces on the night.
The Hawks were led by Kyla Gustavson's 12 kills and 22 digs. Natalie Steinwart added 34 assists, and Shannon Douglas recorded 13 kills for Saint Anselm.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, October 16 when they host Assumption College in a league match at 7:30 p.m.
