MANCHESTER, N.H - The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team was defeated by Northeast-10 Conference opponent Bentley College Tuesday night by a score of 3-1. The Penmen are now 11-15 overall and 3-11 in conference play, while Bentley stands at 11-18 and 6-8 in the league.

The Falcons would notch the first win by a set score of 25-19, but the Penmen would fight back to take the second set with a 25-22 score. Bentley proved to be too much for SNHU as they won the next two sets by scores of 25-15, and 25-19.

Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) broke the single-season kill record with her 11 kills on the night. The record, which was recently held by class of 2010 standout Stephanie Dluginski, stood at 325 kills in a single season. The freshman has totaled 331 kills thus far on the season, and still has one game to be played.

Along with Houlihan's offensive efforts, the Penmen also had solid play from Ashlee Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) who totaled 10 kills and eight digs on the night. The Penmen honored lone senior Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) for the team's last regular season home game. Solomon added 11 kills and nine digs for SNHU. Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) contributed 37 assists, while Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) added four service aces and 10 digs for the Penmen.

Bentley's offense was powered behind Kelsey Buckner's 14 kills. Kyana Miller totaled 35 assists in the win, and Lauren Colasanti contributed 15 digs defensively for the Falcons.

The Penmen return to action Saturday, November 10 when they travel to American International College for a 12:00 p.m. conference matchup.
