ORLANDO, Fla.—The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team defeated Bemidji State 9-0 on Monday afternoon in non-conference action from the Fort Gatlin Tennis Center in Orlando, Florida. With the win, the Penmen improve to 7-2 on the season, while the loss drops Bemidji State to 1-7.
Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) led the Penmen in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles against Bemidji State's Britney Greenwaldt. In doubles, Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) and Kirsten Jean (Bedford, N.H.) paired up for the first time this season at No. 2 doubles and took the 8-2 win, while Samantha Jean (Bedford, N.H.) and Jamie Hann (Westhampton, N.Y.) also paired up for the first time this season to win 8-2 in the third doubles slot.
The Penmen return to action tomorrow when they take on Florida Tech at 4:00 p.m.
