Merrimack Clips No. 16 Women's Soccer in OT 1-0

Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Danielle Dion scored her eighth goal of the season 4:58 into overtime to lift Merrimack College to a 1-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer win over No. 16 Southern New Hampshire University Tuesday night at Larkin Field.  The Warriors improved to 5-2 and 3-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 4-2-1 and 2-2-2 in league play.

Dion's goal came when she sent a low line drive inside the right post from the top of the 18 after taking a feed from Jenn Pino.  For Dion it marked her third game-winning goal of the season.

Nicole Curtis made five saves en route to the shutout for Merrimack, while Penmen keeper Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) turned aside four shots.  The Warriors generated an 18-10 shot advantage for the game, which was played with a east-to-west wind that gave each team a tailwind for a half.  The guests also had nine corner kicks to Southern New Hampshire's one.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday night when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University in a 7:00 contest at Larkin Field.
