NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern New Hampshire women's tennis team defeated the University of New Haven by a score of 8-1 Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Penmen improve to 10-6 overall and remain perfect in league play with a 7-0 record, while the Chargers are now 3-5 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
A sweep in doubles action along with five out of six wins in singles play would keep the undefeated conference record alive for the Penmen.
Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) and Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) would defeat Eva Rybka and Lindsey Conley in the first doubles match by a score of 8-1, while the second and third doubles would earn 8-4, and 8-5 wins, respectively.
Mukdaprakorn, Vamvakitis, and Amanda Albuquerque (Weymouth, Mass.) would notch wins in the first three singles matches over the Chargers, while Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) and Jamie Hann (Westhampton, N.Y.) would each win their matches at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
The Penmen return to action on Thursday, March 28 when they host Saint Michael's College for a league match at 3:30 p.m.
