MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire women's tennis team would defeat Northeast-10 Conference opponent Adelphi University Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-4. SNHU improves to 12-6 overall and 9-0 in the league, while the Panthers are now 7-6 and 3-3 in conference play.
The Penmen would take a 2-1 lead after doubles play, and would win three out of six singles matches for the win.
Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) and Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) would notch a win in No. 1 doubles action over Maria Toft and Bianca Posa for a Penmen point, while Jamie Hann (Westhampton, N.Y.) and Kirsten Jean (Bedford, N.H.) would get the other point in doubles play with an 8-4 win at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, Mukdaprakorn and Vamvakitis would prevail in the first and second matches by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-4, respectively. The other Penmen point would come from Amanda Albuquerque (Weymouth, Mass.) who would defeat Gaby Adia by a score of 7-5, 6-1 in No. 3 singles play.
The Penmen return to action Thursday, April 4 when they travel to Stonehill College for a 3:00 p.m. conference match.
