WALTHAM, Mass. –The Southern New Hampshire women's tennis team completed its undefeated regular season Northeast-10 Conference record Saturday with a 7-2 win over Bentley. With the win, the Penmen improve to 15-7 overall and 12-0 in the league, while Bentley is now 9-8 and 8-4 in the NE-10.
Senior Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) wrapped up her final regular season as a Penmen with an impressive 12-0 conference record at No. 1 singles, as well as a perfect 12-0 league record at No. 1 doubles with teammate Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River). The undefeated duo ranked second in the region among doubles teams.
In her four year tenure at SNHU, Mukdaprakorn led the Penmen to a 50-1 overall conference record, including a 33 win streak in conference play.
Against Bentley Saturday, the senior prevailed in No. 1 singles by a scores of 6-1, 6-0. Vamvakitis was also successful in singles play while defeating Rachel Litton by scores of 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.
In doubles play, Mukdaprakorn and Vamvakitis earned the lone Penmen point with an 8-0 victory at No. 1. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles were defeated by scores of 9-7 and 8-6, respectively.
The Penmen earned sole possession of first place in the conference with their undefeated record. Northeast-10 Championship schedule dates and times are to be determined and will be released at a later date.
