Box Score NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack College scored in the 54th minute to post a 1-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire University at Martone-Mejail Field Tuesday night. The Warriors upped their record to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 3-3-1 and 0-2-1 in the league.
After a scoreless first half, the hosts scored the game's lone goal when Jenna Savi scored off a feed from Katie Bresciani for her third goal of the season.
Nicole Curtis made five saves in goal for Merrimack to preserve the shutout, while SNHU keeper Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) turned aside a pair of shots as the Warriors outshot the Penmen 14-11. The hosts also held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks on the evening.
SNHU returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Southern Connecticut State University for a 5:00 Northeast-10 contest. The next Penmen home game is Wednesday, October 2, when SNHU welcomes Stonehill College for a 7:00 game at Larkin Field.
