MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University blanked the University of New Haven 9-0 in Northeast-10 women's tennis Friday afternoon at the SNHU courts. The Penmen won their fourth straight to improve to 5-1 overall and in the NE-10, while the Chargers are now 3-7 overall and in the league.
The Penmen dropped four games in doubles as it took a 3-0 lead. In singles action, Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) prevailed at No. 5 in the closest match of the afternoon, besting Sarah Burzin 7-5, 7-5. The Penmen fell in just five games in the other five singles victories, including a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 by Sarah Schöllgen (Meerbusch, Germany) in her return to the lineup.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Sunday when it hosts American International College in a noon contest.
