MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team recorded its fifth straight victory with a 9-0 shutout of American International College Sunday afternoon at the SNHU courts. The win gives the Penmen their longest win streak since opening up the 2013-14 season 6-0 as they improve to 6-1 overall and in league play, while the Yellow Jackets are 0-8 overall and in the NE-10.
With the win, the Penmen move into a tie for second place in the conference with Stonehill College. Both teams suffered their lone setback of the season thus far to Adelphi University, which sits atop the league standings with a 9-0 mark.
American International was forced to forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles after traveling with just four players on Sunday.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Franklin Pierce University for a 3:00 contest.
