ITA RANKINGS
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Both Southern New Hampshire University tennis teams have earned top-ten rankings in the East Region as released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently.
The women's team, after a Northeast-10 semifinal appearance earned the No. 6 spot in the rankings while the men's team locked up the No. 7 spot in the region after a 2-1 effort in the fall. In addition to the team rankings, three individuals saw their names in the player rankings.
Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) sits at the No. 13 spot for ranked women's singles players, while men's tennis features Peter Wylie (Cedar Grove, N.J.) at No. 20 in the men's rankings. Vamvakitis was featured in doubles rankings as well, where Vamvakitis and teammate Ashley Loft (Leysin, Switzerland) sit at No. 10 in doubles rankings. Vamvakitis went 10-3 out of the No. 1 spot for women's tennis this season and notched a 10-2 record in doubles action when partnered with Loft.
Wylie finished 3-0 at No. 3 singles for the Penmen in the fall and also reached the round of 16 at the A singles draw at the ITA Regional in September.
The spring schedules for both the men's and women's tennis teams will be released in the near future.
