COLCHESTER, Vt. – Southern New Hampshire University notched a 6-3 Northeast-10 women's tennis victory over Saint Michael's College at the Saint Michael's Courts on Tuesday afternoon. The Penmen won their third straight to improve to 4-1 overall and in the NE-10, while the Purple Knights are now 4-3 overall and in league play.
In singles action, Diana Vamvakitis (Wading River, N.Y.) was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 1, while Ashley Loft (Leysin, Switzerland) recorded a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2. Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) rallied for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4, while Lindsay Baum (North Salem, N.Y.) posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5.
Vamvakitis and Jamie Hann (Westhampton, N.Y.) were 8-2 winners at No. 1 doubles, while Loft and Baum were victors by an 8-4 count at No. 2.
Southern New Hampshire hosts the University of New Haven in its home opener Saturday at 1:00 pm.
