BOX SCORE

When and Where: October 23, 2015 — Manchester, N.H. (SNHU Tennis Courts)
Score: Stonehill College 5, Southern New Hampshire University 3
Records: Stonehill 13-2, SNHU 11-2

Third-seeded Stonehill College topped No. 2 seed Southern New Hampshire University, 5-3, in a Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship semifinal Friday at the SNHU Tennis Courts. The Skyhawks advance to the NE-10 title game for the second consecutive season with a victory over the Penmen, and will face top-seeded Adelphi University on Sunday. Southern New Hampshire saw its 10-match win streak come to a close and is now 11-2 overall.

The Penmen trailed 2-1 after doubles, but evened the match at three apiece as it took the top-two singles flights. Graduate student Nour Kaddour (Paris, France) posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 before senior Ashley Loft (Leysin, Switzerland) won in straight-sets at No. 2, 6-3 and 6-0.

Stonehill would grab the next two points to regain a one-point advantage. Analise Kump topped senior Yolanda Green (Springfield, Mass.) in the third singles flight before Victoria Barbetta secured a point at No. 4 Singles by edging freshman Kaitlyn Poje (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. The fifth and deciding point was earned in No. 6 Singles by Stonehill's Emma Prinos with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over freshman Rachel Wagner (Framingham, Mass.).

Southern New Hampshire, who defeated Stonehill 5-4 earlier this season, jumped out to an early lead after Loft and Poje took an 8-1 decision at No. 1 Doubles. Barbetta and Kump teamed up in the second doubles' match to down Kaddour and Green by a 7-4 count, and Kirsti Toegemann joined Nicole Downey to claim No. 3 Doubles over Wagner and sophomore Lindsay Baum (North Salem, N.Y.), 8-2.

Notes:
 - Loft improved to 13-0 in dual match play in both singles and doubles.
 - Baum dropped the first set of the No. 5 Singles match to Downey in a tie-breaker, 7-6 (7-5), and was unable to finish before the clinching point was won.

Friday's match closed out the Penmen's fall schedule, and its spring slate will be announced over the winter.
