Two goals in the game's final 7:32 lifted 23rd-ranked Southern New Hampshire to a 2-0 women's soccer victory at Le Moyne Saturday afternoon.
The game remained scoreless until the game's 82:28 mark. Bridget O'Sullivan (South Grafton, Mass.) sent a feed into Trisha Luis (Lowell, Mass.) into the box. Luis dribbled left, beat Dolphin keeper Tori Corsaro, and fired into an open net for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Gabby Cappello (Andover, Mass.) added an insurance goal just under five minutes later when she lifted a shot from 23 yards that got over the head of Corsaro and found the upper left corner. Luis assisted on the goal.
Paige Salmon made four saves en route to her third straight shutout, while Corsaro turned aside six shots.
Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire is off to its best start since 1994, when the Penmen won 11 of their first 12 games.
- The current six-game win streak for women's soccer is its' longest since 2010.
- The Penmen have posted five straight shutouts and have not allowed a goal in their last 448:57 of action.
- SNHU outshot Le Moyne 15-8 and generated a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
