A goal 1:22 into the second half pushed host Merrimack to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire, snapping a six-game win streak for the Penmen.
After a scoreless first half, Andrea Rego took a pass from Victoria Carter and put it past SNHU keeper Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.) for her second goal of the season.
Meghan Gulbrandsen and Molly Meehan each played a half in goal for the Warriors and combined to make three saves en route to the combined shutout, while Scanlon stopped 10 shots. Merrimack held a 13-8 shot advantage.
Notes:
- SNHU had posted five straight shutouts entering Tuesday night. Rego's goal snapped a scoreless streak of 495:19 for the Penmen.
- Southern New Hampshire took eight of the game's 12 corner kicks.
- SNHU's six-game win streak had been its longest since 2010.
