Three second half goals lifted the Bentley University field hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both teams.

Freshman Cassidy Huckins (Boscawen, N.H.) gave the Penmen an early 1-0 lead, as she collected a feed from sophomore Mikaela Gauvain (Salem, N.H.) at the right side of the goal and tucked it inside the far post for her second goal of the season.

The score would hold through the remainder of the first half, as sophomore Jill Piacitelli (East Greenwich, R.I.) turned aside five Falcons' shots through the game's first 35 minutes.

Piacitelli opened the second half with four more saves before Bentley was able to knot the score with 13:31 left in regulation. Molly Rowe got the Falcons on the board after she deflected a shot by Eva Michaliszyn to the back of the cage to make it a one-all game. Tori Ellis converted a rebound attempt just over two minutes later to give Bentley the lead, and Rachel Crowley capped the scoring with 4:34 remaining to give the hosts a 3-1 win.

Notes:

 - Piacitelli registered her third consecutive game with double-digit saves, as she recorded 10 in the setback.
 - Sophomore Erin Frost (East Andover, N.H.) picked up her second defensive save of the season 7:10 into the second half.

What's Next:

Southern New Hampshire returns to Larkin Field on Wednesday, when it hosts Saint Anselm College in a Northeast-10 Conference and Queen City Cup clash at 7 p.m.
