Melanie Epstein (Bayport, N.Y.) had Southern New Hampshire's lone goal as it fell 5-1 in field hockey to American International Saturday night.
AIC held a 2-0 lead after goals in the 14th and 21st minute, before Epstein netted her first goal of the season seven seconds before intermission to cut the lead to 2-1. The Yellow Jackets scored three times in the first 12:47 of the second half to put the game away.
Jill Piacitelli (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Cassandra Nickerson (Newton, N.H.) combined to make 16 saves for Southern New Hampshire in goal.
Notes:
- The Yellow Jackets held a 32-7 shot advantage on the evening.
- Five different players scored for American International.
- The goal for Epstein was the first of her career.
