Freshman Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) and sophomore Catherine Stinson (Lynn, Mass.) scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team vanquished a five-game losing skid with a 52-51 victory against Le Moyne College on Tuesday evening at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Lorenzen was 7-for-8 from the field, while collecting nine rebounds to narrowly miss out on her third double-double of the season. Stinson shot 4 of 13 from the floor, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and 3 of 5 from the stripe to go along with three rebounds.

Vandell Andrade led the Dolphins with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The game was tied 6-6 a little over four minutes into an opening quarter in which the Penmen never led when five different Le Moyne scorers contributed to a 15-5 run that ended the period with the Dolphins holding a 21-11 advantage. Ailayia Demand paced Le Moyne with five points during the stretch.

Southern New Hampshire flipped the script in the second stanza, opening the quarter with a 12-2 flourish that was powered by eight points from Lorenzen and knotted the contest at 23-all. The Dolphins then crafted a 5-1 spurt that put them back in front before a jumper from freshman Aaliyah Paxton (Hainesport, N.J.) trimmed SNHU's halftime deficit to 28-26.

After an Andrade layup opened the second-half scoring, the Penmen ripped off an 11-2 run as five scorers contributed to put the hosts in front, 37-32, midway through the third quarter. SNHU grabbed its first lead of the game on a three-point play from junior Sara Ryan (Quincy, Mass.) that made it 35-32 with 5:36 remaining.

A 5-0 counter-run from Le Moyne would tie the game at 37-all with just over three minutes on the clock, but back-to-back Stinson layups gave Southern New Hampshire a 43-39 edge at the end of three.

A layup from sophomore Olivia Conrad (Hanover, Mass.) opened the largest lead of the night for the Penmen at 45-39, but four straight points from Andrade sparked a 6-0 run that tied the game at 45-all with 7:45 to play.

A 7-2 spurt – highlighted by a huge Stinson trey – put the Penmen back top, 52-47, with 1:01 to go, but a pair of layups from Demand and Andrade would slice the Dolphins' deficit to just a single point with 15 seconds left. Following a questionable jump ball call that went Le Moyne's way and a timeout, the Dolphins possessed the ball with a chance at the win with 13 ticks on the clock, but missed a 3-pointer with five seconds left and the Penmen escaped with the win.

Conrad finished with eight points (3-5 FG, 2-4 FT) and three rebounds, while classmate Jennifer Shelp (Apalachin, N.Y.) notched eight points (1-7 FG, 6-6 FT) and four boards. Ryan chipped in three points (1-6 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two blocks and Paxton added three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 FT) and six boards.
