Women's Basketball Turns In 14th Highest GPA in Country

Penmen compiled a 3.759 GPA for the 2025-26 Season

ATLANTA – The Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team has once again been recognized for its academic excellence, earning a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The Penmen posted the 14th-best grade-point average (GPA) in the nation for the 2025-26 academic year.

With a stellar 3.759 team GPA, SNHU led the Northeast 10 Conference and ranked third in the East Region, demonstrating its continued commitment to success in the classroom. Mercy University topped the Division II list with a GPA of 3.853.

This marks the sixth time in the past 10 seasons that Southern New Hampshire has been named to the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The Penmen improved on last year's 20th-place finish, achieving their highest national ranking since also placing 14th in 2017.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes women's basketball programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year colleges that maintain the highest combined GPAs. Rankings include all student-athletes on a team's roster for the entire academic year. The 2025-26 season marks the 31st year the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
