Records:
SNHU 10-4 (4-4 Northeast-10), Saint Rose 9-4 (4-3 Northeast-10)

Freshman Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) registered her second career double-double to pace four scorers in double figures, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team succumbed to a fourth-quarter rally in a 71-67 loss to the College of Saint Rose on Wednesday evening at Nolan Gymnasium.

Lorenzen scored a team-high 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-2 FT), ripped down 10 rebounds, made three steals and handed out a pair of assists. Senior Erin Doherty (Marshfield, Mass.) added 15 points (7-15 FG, 1-2 FT) and two rebounds. Two days after scoring a career-high 12 points in a win against Concordia (N.Y.) College, freshman Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) matched her new career best on 5 of 9 shooting from the field, including 2 of 5 from downtown, to go along with three rebounds and two assists. Classmate Aaliyah Paxton (Hainesport, N.J.) netted 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 FT) and collected three boards.

Staci Barrett led all scorers with 18 points and 11 rebounds for Saint Rose, while Taylor Nazon added 17 points.

Saint Rose moved out to a 9-5 lead midway through the opening quarter and led, 12-9, with a minute to go, but layups from sophomore Catherine Stinson (Lynn, Mass.) and Paxton catapulted Southern New Hampshire into the lead at 13-12 after one.

SNHU still led by a single point three minutes into the second stanza when a pair of Lorenzen layups bookended a 7-0 run that increased the lead to 27-19 with 5:16 to go. Four points from Barrett, however, would power an 8-2 stretch that slashed the Saint Rose deficit to 33-31 with under a minute on the clock. The Penmen would head into the break with a 36-32 advantage.

Southern New Hampshire would open the second half with a layup from Doherty and a three-point play from Lorenzen to grab its largest lead of the night at 41-32 less than two minutes in. The Golden Knights would respond with a 9-2 streak that featured four points from Nazon and trimmed the gap to 49-47 with 2:06 to go. SNHU nudged its lead to 53-49 going into the final frame.

Lorenzen pushed the advantage to seven just seven seconds into the fourth quarter with another old fashioned three-point play, but seven points from Barrett carried an 11-2 blitz that put Saint Rose in front, 64-60, with three minutes remaining.

Baskets from Stinson and Lorenzen would make up a 4-1 spurt that made it a one-point game with 1:05 on the clock, but Saint Rose would score six of the final nine points to seal the win.

Sophomore Jennifer Shelp (Apalachin, N.Y.) tallied three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal, while Stinson finished with four points (2-7 FG) and three boards.
