Sophomore Maddie Holt (Seabrook, N.H.) scored in overtime for the second consecutive contest to lift the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team to a 1-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference action at Sodexo Field on Wednesday.

After neither side was able to find the back of the cage through 70 minutes of regulation, Holt registered her third of the year less than two minutes into the extra session. Freshman Laura van der Doorn (Beverwijk, The Netherlands) keyed the play, as she carried the ball down the left side of the field. Once van der Doorn began to work her way along the end line, she sent a cross towards the front of the goal. Ravens' goalkeeper Meaghan Williams was able to get a piece of it, but not enough to clear it completely, and Holt punched home the rebound to give the Penmen their third straight overtime win and fourth consecutive victory overall.

Williams was strong in goal for Franklin Pierce, as she stopped six of the seven shots she faced. Reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week, sophomore Melanie Rennie (Madison, Conn.) turned aside the lone shot to come her way for her fourth shutout of the season.

Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire outshot the Ravens by a 12-3 margin and held a 10-3 edge in penalty corners.
- Holt now has three goals thus far in 2016, all of which have been game-winning goals.
- After winning a combined three games through its first two seasons as a varsity program, Southern New Hampshire has won six of its last seven outings and eight nine games overall.

What's Next:
The Penmen return home to Larkin Field for its final two games of the season, beginning on Sunday with a 1 o'clock showdown with Stonehill College (10-3, 7-2 Northeast-10).
