Nacho Hernando-Angulo (Logrono, Spain) claimed All-Conference First Team honors with a second-place finish, overall, to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team to a fifth-place showing at the Northeast-10 Championship on Saturday at Stonehill College.
Hernando-Angulo completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 24 minutes, 57.3 seconds.
Junior Tyler McLaren (Pepperell, Mass.) finished 12th as he traversed the terrain in a time of 25:46.6 to earn second team honors. Fellow junior Andrew Tuttle (Alton, N.H.) and freshman Michael Moreno (Houston, Texas) checked in at 40th and 43rd, respectively, with times of 26:56.4 and 27:01.1.
Sophomore Chris Burrill (Exeter, N.H.) rounded out SNHU's scoring harriers with a 27:40.8 finish that placed him 61st.
Freshman Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I.) crossed the finish at 27:49.1, with sophomore John Sanborn (Chichester, N.H.) not far behind at 28:03.9. Senior Jacob Wormald (Pelham, N.H.) clocked a time of 28:25.4.
Freshman Tyler Sholes (Franklin, Conn.) and junior Rafy Castillo (Bow, N.H.) completed the Penmen contingent in respective times of 28:54.7 and 29:59.0.
Notes:
- Hernando-Angulo becomes the program's first two-time Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team selection, following last year's third-place showing.
- American International College's Leakey Kipkosgei crossed the finish line just under 22 seconds faster than Hernando-Angulo to become the eighth straight Yellow Jacket to capture individual NE-10 Champion honors.
-AIC won its third consecutive league crown by placing all five of its scoring runners in the top 10.
- The race featured 154 student-athletes from 15 competing institutions.

SNHU is back in action Saturday, Nov. 5 when it competes at the NCAA East Regional Championship at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
