Freshman Ross Wallace (Garden City, N.Y.) won the 44th annual Shacklette Invitational in his collegiate debut to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team on Saturday at Saint Anselm College.
KEY MOMENT
- Wallace completed the three-mile course in 15:15, finishing 26 seconds ahead of Saint Anselm's William Oldham. His victory gave the Penmen the individual winner at the Shacklette Invitational for the second consecutive season.
NOTES
- Senior Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) finished sixth in 16:32, with classmate Brett Trainor (North Chelmsford, Mass.) following one second later in seventh place.
- Sophomore Landon Graveline (Northwood, N.H.) placed 11th in 16:46, while freshman Marcus Clark (Kensington, N.H.) completed SNHU's scoring five by finishing 15th in 17:15.
- Freshman Brady Harker (Hill, N.H.) was 16th in 17:36, senior Alex Labreque (Hooksett, N.H.) took 18th in 17:46 and sophomore Jackson Bock (Danbury, Conn.) placed 19th in 17:57.
- Saint Anselm won the dual meet with 22 points, while SNHU totaled 37.
- Dillon Labonte captured last year's Shacklette individual title for the Penmen.
