After UDC grabbed a 3-0 lead early on, Lorenzen scored the first seven points for the Penmen as part of an 11-0 rush that gave Southern New Hampshire an eight-point advantage with 4:31 remaining in the opening stanza. The Firebirds later cut it to three before a 6-0 flourish – highlighted by a 3-pointer from freshman Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) – put the Penmen up, 19-10, at the end of the first quarter.

A bucket from sophomore Aaliyah Paxton (Hainesport, N.J.) and a triple from MacLeod to start the second quarter extended the run to 11-0 and ran the lead to 24-10 less than three minutes in. Later in the frame, a 3 from sophomore Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) touched off an 11-0 run that sent the Penmen to the locker room with a commanding 40-17 advantage.

After back-to-back baskets from Bianca White and Shantrel Oliver began the second half scoring for UDC, Southern New Hampshire responded with a 17-2 blitz that feature eight points from Lorenzen and broke it open at 57-25 with 1:23 left in the third. The Penmen would carry a 61-28 lead into the final quarter, which went back and forth, with the Firebirds outscoring the Penmen, 15-13.
