GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Junior goalkeeper Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team was chosen as one of two Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Players of the Week on Wednesday.
Kennedy, who earned her third Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season Monday, stopped 32 of the 54 shots she faced during all but 4:29 in the cage during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Kennedy turned away 22 of 32 shots in a 15-10 win at 18th-ranked Stonehill College on Tuesday and then made 10 saves in a 21-15 victory against American International College on Saturday.
Kennedy is leading the conference with 180 saves, while ranking second in save percentage (.499) and third in wins (11).
Grand Valley State University's Erika Neumen scored 10 goals to also earn the accolade.
The final regular-season home game for the Penmen is Saturday, April 30 (1 p.m.) when they play host to Southern Connecticut State University on Senior Day at Larkin Field.
