Sophomore Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) tied for third with an 82, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team lost a season-opening dual match to Merrimack College, 317-350, Saturday at Lake Sunapee Country Club.
Seniors Aimee Cawlina (Peabody, Mass.) and Kerry Twomey (Londonderry, N.H.) carded an 88 and 89, respectively, to finish eighth and ninth, while freshman Alyssa Scandura (Rocky Hill, Conn.) shot a 91 to place 10th.
Notes:
-Sophomore Kailey Coleman (N. Berwick, Maine) totaled a 98 but did not factor in team scoring for the Penmen.
-Merrimack's Alessandra Ricigliano was the top individual as she fired a 3-over 76 on the day.
The Penmen return to action Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational in Keene, N.H., at the Brentwood Golf Course.
