Sophomore Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) fired a 79 to finish third overall and lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team to a third-place showing at the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Brentwood Golf Course.
Franklin Pierce captured the event with a score of 319.
Freshman Rachel Ruffino (W. Orange, N.J.) carded an 80 to tie for fourth. Senior Kerry Twomey (Londonderry, N.H.) tied for 20th with her 89, while sophomore Kailey Coleman (N. Berwick, Maine) shot a 92 to finish 23rd.
Notes:
-Senior Aimee Cawlina (Peabody, Mass.) shot an 84 to tie for 10th but played as an individual. Freshman Alyssa Scandura (Rocky Hill, Conn.) also did not factor in team scoring for the Penmen and totaled a 100.
-Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison claimed a 3-under 69 to win the event.
-The FPU Fall Invitational was comprised of 32 student-athletes from five institutions.
The Penmen return to action Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Le Moyne College Fall Invitational in Pompey, N.Y., at the Pompey Club.
