Freshman Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) fired an 81 in Sunday's final round, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team finished sixth at the Martin & Wallace Invitational, hosted by the State University of New York at Cortland, at the Cortland Country Club.
Lewellen came in four strokes better than her opening-round 85 to finish in a tie for eighth with a two-round total of 166.
Junior Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) tied for 20th with a 171, as she topped Saturday's 86 with an 85.
Junior Kailey Coleman (No. Berwick, Maine) carded a 96 to finish with a 185, while classmate Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) totaled a 183 after shooting a 98.
Notes:
-Ithaca College won the event with a 640, which was 12 strokes better than host Cortland.
-Cortland's Danielle Bambola earned individual medalist honors with a 151 – two stroked better than Le Moyne College's Bianca Cruz.
-The Martin & Wallace Invitational was comprised of 51 golfers from nine institutions.
