The Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team placed 12th after the opening round of the Brown Intercollegiate on Friday at the Country Club of Whispering Pines in Pinehurst, N.C.
Senior Kerry Twomey (Londonderry, N.H.) turned in the top score of the day for the Penmen with a 96, which was just ahead of classmate Aimee Cawlina (Peabody, Mass.), who checked in with a 97.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) totaled a 102, with classmate Kailey Coleman (No. Berwick, Maine) adding a 104.
Notes:
- West Chester University leads after the first round with a 337, which is seven strokes better than Chowan University.
- Chowan's Inecia Rolle is the top individual, thus far, with a 75.
- The Brown Intercollegiate, hosted by Mercyhurst University, is comprised of 68 student-athletes from 12 institutions.
