Sophomore Sofia Morais (Porto, Portugal) won both of her matches, including a marathon at No. 2 singles, to help the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team close out its regular season with a 6-3 win against Babson College on Saturday afternoon at the Farwell Tennis Courts.
Morais combined with sophomore Kaitlyn Poje (E. Stroudsburg, Pa.) to squeak out a 9-7 No. 1 singles win against Dina Weick and Kylie Kam, while graduate student Abla Chadli (Rabat, Morocco) and sophomore Anna Sala (Matadepera, Spain) doubled up Chloe Brandt and Claire Foster, 8-4, at No. 2 singles, to give Southern New Hampshire a 2-1 lead going to singles play.
Chadli took down Weick, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Morais rallied for a 0-6, 7-5, 1-0 (13-11) victory at No. 2 versus Brandt.
Poje recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win against Emily Roper at No. 4 singles, with junior Lindsay Baum (N. Salem, N.Y.) making quick work of Alexandra Blizard, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6.

-Southern New Hampshire is slotted sixth in the ITA East Region Rankings.
