After taking more than five hours to win Saturday, the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team made things a bit easier Sunday afternoon, as it took about half that to earn an 8-1 win against Franklin Pierce University at the SNHU Tennis Courts.

Already knowing it had a 2-0 lead in the match via wins by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, Southern New Hampshire added to that advantage, as juniors Sofia Morais (Porto, Portugal) and Anna Sala (Matadepera, Spain) took down Alana Wyatt and Sonia Rodrigues, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles, and junior Kaitlyn Poje (E. Stroudsburg, Pa.) and freshman Casey Burns (Westbrook, Conn.) made quick work of Sarah Rich and Kelly O'Donnell, 8-0, at No. 2.

Morais clinched the match early, leading Wyatt, 6-1, at No. 1 singles when the Raven was forced to retire, giving the Penmen a 5-0 lead. Sala then swept Rodrigues, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2, before Franklin Pierce earned its first point of the day at No. 5 singles.

Junior Rachel Wagner (Framingham, Mass.) and senior Lindsay Baum (No. Salem, N.Y.) wrapped things up with respective 8-4 and 8-2 pro set triumphs at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Notes:
- The Penmen begin the season 4-0 for the first time since 2013-14.
