Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) scored a game-high 17 points and sophomore Amanda Kelly (Bethpage, N.Y.) added a career-best 12, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team posted a 76-69 victory against Saint Michael's College at the SNHU Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening.

Lorenzen, who was limited to 26 minutes with foul trouble, was 7-for-15 from the field, including 2-for-2 from long distance, and made her only free throw attempt, while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing a pair of assists. Kelly's career-high came on 5 of 9 shooting from the field and 2 of 2 shooting from the stripe, to go along with a career-best eight rebounds. Fellow sophomore Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was also in double figures with 11 points (3-5 FG, 3-4 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and three steals.

Emily Ferreri and Samantha Delaney each scored 17 points for Saint Michael's, while Leah Spencer added 16.

Four points from Ferreri helped Saint Michael's build an early 8-2 lead over the opening 3:39 before nine straight points later in the quarter – with four coming from Kelly – catapulted Southern New Hampshire into the lead at 14-11 with 2:50 to play. The Purple Knights responded with six straight to close the frame with a 17-14 edge.

The Saint Michael's lead was five nearly four minutes into the second quarter when four different scorers contributed to an 8-0 rush that put SNHU back into the lead at 28-25 just past the midway point. A 10-4 counter-run from the Purple Knights gave them a three-point lead with less than 10 seconds on the clock before Terry beat the buzzer from just over half-court for her third trey of the opening half to send the game to the break, tied at 35.

A Lorenzen layup a half-minute into the third quarter snapped the tie and sparked an 11-4 run – with Lorenzen herself leading the way with five points, while freshman Sarah Deyo (Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in four – that gave the Penmen a 46-39 advantage less than four minutes in. The margin was eight more than two minutes later when Saint Michael's closed the frame on a 13-3 wave – with five from Spencer and four from Delaney – to grab a 56-54 lead.

The game was knotted at 62 just over four minutes into the final quarter when a bucket from Kelly gave SNHU the lead for good and sparked a 12-2 blitz – with five points from Lorenzen – that sealed it with Southern New Hampshire holding a 74-64 advantage with under a minute to go.

Junior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) posted eight points (2-4 FG, 4-4 FT), eight boards and three assists, while freshman Gyanna Russell (E. Hampton, Conn.) also netted eight points (2-5 FG, 4-5 FT) and added three rebounds.
