Senior Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) shot a 5-over 76 and is tied for first after the opening round of Merrimack College's Granite State Invitational on Monday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team is third at Nashua Country Club.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Mitchell is in a first-place tie with Le Moyne College's Bianca Cruz-Hernandez.
- Freshman Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) and sophomore Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) each carded an 83 and are tied for 16th.
- Freshman Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.) is right behind with an 84, tied for 22nd.
NOTES
- Junior Brooke Barrett (Bedford, N.H.) did not factor into the scoring with an 85.
- Senior Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.), playing as an individual, is tied for 11th with an 82.
- Senior Kailey Coleman (No. Berwick, Maine), also playing as an individual, totaled a 104.
- Franklin Pierce University leads after the opening round with a 315, which is five strokes ahead of Merrimack.
- The Granite State Invitational is comprised of 50 student-athletes from eight institutions.
