NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was chosen as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 18, the league office announced Tuesday.
Aubron secured a pair of wins to lead the Penmen to a crucial early-spring win over Le Moyne College on Sunday. Aubron teamed with sophomore Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) to salvage doubles with an 8-6 win against Andres Hernandez and Jason Barton at No. 2. Aubron then helped seal the 6-3 match win at No. 4 singles with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph against Xavier Graells. Aubron also nearly orchestrated SNHU's only triumph of the day in a 7-0 loss at Boston College on Friday, as he and van Biezen dropped a 7-6 (5-3) decision at No. 2 doubles against Connor Mullins and Kent Mukai.
Aubron and the Penmen return to action Friday, March 2 (5 p.m.) when they play host to the New York Institute of Technology at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown.
