MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University baseball team had its weekend trip to Pennsylvania wiped out, so it took matters into its own hands and locked down a new schedule a little closer to home.
The team was originally supposed to play single games at Shippensburg University on Friday, March 2 and Sunday, March 4, with a doubleheader against Slippery Rock University scheduled in between on Saturday, March 3. With weather and field availability wreaking havoc, the Penmen will instead travel to the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass., for a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.
Southern New Hampshire will take on Northeast-10 foe Saint Michael's College on Saturday in a pair of games beginning at 1 p.m., before hosting West Chester University in another double-dip that gets underway Sunday at noon.
Additionally, the program made a couple of changes to its schedule for its spring break trip to Florida next week. The Penmen will now kick off the trip Friday, March 9, with a 6 p.m. single game against Bloomfield College at Santaluces High School in Lantana, Fla. The doubleheader against Wilmington (Del.) University on Saturday, March 10 is now just single game at Santaluces, with Sunday's single game against Caldwell University at Santaluces, as well as Monday's tilt at Eckerd College and Tuesday's matchup at Nova Southeastern University remaining the same.
