Freshman Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) fired a four-over 76 at the opening round of the Battle at Hilton Head on Monday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team placed 20^th at Palmetto Dunes Resort.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

• May is tied for 13^th and is six shots off the pace.
• Senior Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) is right behind after shooting a 77 that has her tied for 17^th.
• Junior Brooke Barrett (Bedford, N.H.) and sophomore Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) carded a 96 and 98, respectively.

NOTES

• Senior Kailey Coleman (No. Berwick, Maine) did not factor into the scoring with a 103.
• Florida Institute of Technology is in first place with a 297, which is eight shots better than Anderson University.
• Anderson's Tiffany Elam is atop the leaderboard with a 2-under 70 – two strokes up on the rest of the field.
• The Battle at Hilton Head is comprised of 108 student-athletes from 21 institutions.
