NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Kelsey Long (Woburn, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team was chosen as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 17, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Long recorded 11 points on seven goals and four assists, racking up 17 draw controls and a pair of ground balls during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Long set new career highs in points (9), goals (6) and assists (3) in a 20-11 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday, and then tallied a goal and an assist in Friday's 19-8 loss to second-ranked Adelphi University.
Long ranks 15th in goals (14) and 18th in points (19) in the league, including fourth and second, respectively, amongst freshmen.
Long and the Penmen are back in action Tuesday (7 p.m.) when they play host to 16th-ranked Merrimack College.
