Freshman Gabby Thomas (Johnstown, Ohio) carded a 75 in the opening round of the Le Moyne Fall Invitational on Saturday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team placed second, overall, at The Links at Erie Village.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Thomas is tied for second, individually, just three shots off the pace.
- Graduate student Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) is tied for fifth after shooting an 81.
- Junior Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) is the third Penmen to place in the top 10 through the first 18 holes, tying for ninth with an 83.
- Sophomore Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) rounded out the SNHU scorers with an 86 that has her tied for 17th.
NOTES
- Sophomore Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.) did not factor into the team scoring with a 92 and is tied for 25th.
- Franklin Pierce University leads Southern New Hampshire by 15 shots.
- FPU's Jinnapat Rittawee is in first place after shooting a 1-over 72, which is three strokes better than Thomas and teammate Zoey Yamamoto.
- The Le Moyne College Fall Invitational is comprised of 44 golfers from seven institutions.
