Sophomore Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) shot a 77 in the opening round of the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational on Sunday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team placed third, overall, at the Keene Country Club.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- May is tied for fourth, individually, just four shots off the pace.
- Graduate student Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) is tied for eighth after carding a 79.
- Freshman Gabby Thomas (Johnstown, Ohio) is right behind with an 80, tied for 11th.
- Sophomore Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.) rounded out the SNHU scorers with an 84 that has her tied for 18th.
NOTES
- Junior Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) did not factor into the team scoring with an 86 and is tied for 24th.
- Fellow junior Rachel Bruno (Dedham, Mass.), playing as an individual, recorded a 100.
- Franklin Pierce University (311) leads Assumption College by seven shots.
- FPU's Zoey Yamamoto is in first place after shooting a 1-over 73, which is two strokes better than teammate Jinnapat Rittawee and Assumption's Christine Cutting.
- The Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational is comprised of 52 golfers from eight institutions.
