Freshman Gabby Thomas (Johnstown, Ohio) shot a 77 Monday to sit in second place following the opening round of the Penmen Fall Invitational, where the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team is tied for first after 18 holes at Lake Sunapee Country Club.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Thomas is just one shot back of the leader with her 5-over 77.
- Graduate student Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) and sophomore Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.) are both tied for eighth after carding an 80.
- Sophomore Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with an 81 that has her tied for 12th.
NOTES
- Junior Makyla Lewellen (Zanesville, Ohio) did not factor into the team scoring with an 85 and is tied for 20th.
- Fellow junior Rachel Bruno (Dedham, Mass.), playing as an individual, recorded a 111.
- Franklin Pierce University is tied with SNHU for the lead, with Stonehill College four shots back.
- FPU's Jinnapat Rittawee is the individual leader with a 4-over 76.
- The Penmen Fall Invitational is comprised of 44 golfers from nine institutions.
