Sophomore Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) and senior Victoria Dean (Plymouth, Mass.) scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team to a 63-54 victory against American International College on Wednesday evening at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire led by one just 40 seconds into the final quarter when five different scorers combined on a 14-4 rush that gave it the largest lead of the contest at 58-47 with 1:29 to go. Dean (5) and Terry (3) led the way, as each splashed a clutch 3-pointer during the stretch.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Rashana Siders led all scorers with 22 points (8-18 FG, 4-6 3-FG, 2-2 FT) for the Yellow Jackets.
  • The Penmen outshot the Yellow Jackets, 45.1 percent (23-51) to 35 percent (21-60), while AIC narrowly returned the favor from deep, 38.9 percent (7-18) to 36.8 percent (7-19).
  • SNHU was also plus-5 from the line, despite American Int'l shooting it better, 83.3 percent (5-6) to 71.4 percent (10-14).
  • The Penmen captured the paint (24-20), collected more points off turnovers (14-9) and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (14/15-6/19), while the Yellow Jackets won the glass (37-30) and gathered more second chance points (6-2).
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire wins for the third time in five games, while AIC loses for the seventh time in nine contests.
  • Despite trailing in the all-time series, 25-12, SNHU has now won three of four against AIC.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen are back in action Saturday, Jan. 25 (1:30 p.m.) when they take on the College of Saint Rose.
  • The next home game for SNHU is Tuesday, Jan. 28 (5:30 p.m.) when it plays host to the University of New Haven at the Stan Spirou Field House.
