Chiara Di Valerio (Terni, Italy) all reached career highs in kills Saturday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team battled the NE10-unbeaten University of New Haven tough, but ultimately fell, 3-2, at the Stan Spirou Field House. Set scores were 22-25, 25-18, 27-25, 20-25, 15-7.

KEY MOMENTS
- The opening set was tied at 21-all when a kill by Di Valerio and two more from Thawnghmung sparked a 4-1 run that ended with a Fontaine kill putting Southern New Hampshire up, 1-0, in the match.
- SNHU led, 24-22, in the third set, as it looked to take a 2-1 advantage in the match, but New Haven scored five of the next six points to steal the frame and go up, 2-1.
- The Penmen led by one in the fourth, when a 7-2 flurry – highlighted by a pair of Pacini kills – opened up a 23-17 advantage. A pair of Charger kills would halt the run, but kills from Pierce and Di Valerio evened the match, 2-2.
- In the fifth, SNHU jumped out to a 2-0 lead and led, 5-2, but New Haven would score eight straight and 13 of the next 15 points to claim victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE???
- New Haven outhit SNHU in the second, third and fifth sets, as well as .274-.220 for the match.
- The Chargers held a 6-5 edge in blocks, while aces were tied, 8-8.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has now alternated wins and losses over its last four matches and has won three of five. The loss does snap a three-game winning streak in NE10 matches for the Penmen.
- SNHU's 8-8 start to the season matches its same record through 16 contests in the 2019 campaign.
- New Haven has now won six-in-a-row against the Penmen.
