Meg Knollmeyer (Hampton, N.H.) secured another double-double, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team staved off a fourth-quarter rally from Saint Anselm College to earn a 72-64 victory Tuesday evening at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire scored the first six points of the game and opened a 20-6 lead over the opening seven-and-a-half minutes of the contest. Russell and Timberlake netted eight and seven points, respectively, during the stretch. SNHU would lead it, 25-13, at the end of one and eventually brought a 40-24 advantage into the break.
- A personal 5-2 spurt from Timberlake to open up the second half gave the Penmen their largest lead of the evening at 45-26 less than two minutes in.
- Saint Anselm trailed by 17 when a 10-2 run trimmed its deficit to 61-52 with less than eight minutes to go. The Hawks would get as close as five with 46 seconds on the clock, but SNHU would go 5-for-6 from the line down the stretch to seal it.

- senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) tallied eight points (3-9 FG, 2-3 FT), five assists and two rebounds.
- Sophomore Julia Colby (So. Parris, Maine) chipped in five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3-FG) in 10 minutes off the bench.
- Sophomore Jessica Knight (Hanover, Mass.) posted four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT).
- SNHU outshot Saint Anselm, 41.3 percent (26-63) to 36.5 percent (23-63) from the field, including 28.6 percent (6-21) to 17.6 percent (3-17) from distance, and 93.3 percent (14-15) to 75 percent (15-20) from the stripe.
- The Penmen captured the glass (44-36), turned in a better assist-to-turnover ratio (11/12-15/18), and scored more points off the fastbreak (13-6) and on second-chance opportunities (11-9), while the Hawks won the paint (38-36), scored more points off turnovers (16-8) and received more bench scoring (36-9).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire is 4-1 for the second consecutive season.
- Saint Anselm still leads the all-time series with SNHU, 51-21, and has won 11 of the last 14 meetings, but the Penmen have captured two straight. It is also the first time since the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons that SNHU has won consecutive games at Saint Anselm.
- Knollmeyer, who leads the league with 15.8 rebounds per game, is averaging 24.0 over her last two games, after matching the single-game program record with 26 on Saturday against Georgian Court University.
- Russell is the only Penmen to have scored in double figures in all five games this season.
- Southern New Hampshire gains another point in the Queen City Cup standings and now leads, 12-5, in the Battle for Manchester supremacy.
