CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Graduate students Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) and Ai Inoue (Tokyo, Japan) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team were named to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England First Team to highlight five Penmen that received NEWISA All-New England honors Wednesday.

Patterson adds to her accolades, which include Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 Player of the Year and NE10 All-Conference First Team. Patterson started all 17 contests she played in, registering 13 points on six goals and an assist. The midfielder led the conference in game-winning goals (4), while ranking 10th in goals and 16th in points. Three of her four game-winners came in 1-0 decisions, with two of those finding the back of the net in the 60th minute or later.

Inoue, who started 13 of the 14 matches she appeared in, also joined Patterson on the D2CCA East All-Region First Team and NE10 First Team. Inoue was a huge difference-maker on a back line that ranked second in the conference in goals allowed (11), shutouts (9) and goals-against average (0.60). SNHU also outshot its opponents, 260-135, allowing just 7.5 shots per contest. Additionally, she contributed three assists, offensively.

Junior Jordan Butters (Beverly, Mass.), who was also an NE10 First Team choice, made the Second Team after starting 14 of the 18 matches she played in. Butters ranked second on the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists. In the league, the Sept. 20 and Oct. 4 NE10 Player of the Week was eighth in helpers and 12th in both points and goals. Butters was an All-Rookie Team member in 2019.

Sophomore Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.), a Second Team selection, was also tabbed as an NE10 Second Team honoree after leading the team in goals, assists and points. Anderson started 14 of the 18 matches this season, scoring seven goals and dishing four assists for 18 points. Her four game-winning tallies matched Patterson for the league lead, while she also sat fourth in points, sixth in goals and eighth in assists. Her biggest goal came 2:48 into overtime on Sept. 29, as the Penmen remained perfect at 8-0-0 with a 3-2 victory at Stonehill College. She also received an All-Rookie Team nod, after being named the Sept. 6 NE10 Player of the Week, and both the Sept. 6 and Oct. 18 Rookie of the Week.

Sophomore Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) joined Butters and Anderson on the Second Team. Michael, who was an NE10 Second Teamer and All-Rookie Team pick, was another key cog in the SNHU defensive machine, starting all 17 matches she suited up in. The Penmen put together defensive scoreless streaks of 347:21 (Sept. 3-18) and 463:24 (Oct. 5-23) during the season.
