Patterson Chosen for United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America First Team

First student-athlete in program history to earn the accolade

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Graduate student Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was recently named as a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America First Team honoree.

Patterson, who was selected as the first United Soccer Coaches All-America First Teamer in 27 years earlier this month, adds to her list of accolades that includes being an East All-Region First Team pick by both the United Soccer Coaches and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), the Player of the Year and an All-Conference First Teamer by the NE10, and a New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England First Team choice. Patterson started all 17 contests she played in, registering 13 points on six goals and an assist. The midfielder led the conference in game-winning goals (4), while ranking ninth in goals and 16th in points. Three of her four game-winners came in 1-0 decisions, with two of those finding the back of the net in the 60th minute or later. In the classroom, Patterson, who is pursuing her Master's degree n Secondary Education, is the owner of a 3.80 GPA.

SNHU put together a record of 13-4-1, including 11-2-0 in league play, and captured the program's first NE10 Regular-Season Championship and the top seed in the NE10 Championship. The Penmen, who soared as high as No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II National Top 25 Poll, received their seventh NCAA Championship selection as the No. 3 seed in the East Region, falling in the opening round to sixth-seeded Mercy College.
