Women's Volleyball Drops Trio of Close Sets to Bentley

Junior Juliana Pacini (Sao Paulo, Brazil) recorded a double-double of 13 kills and 11 digs, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 affair with Bentley University in its NE10 opener Saturday afternoon at the Stan Spirou Field House. Set scores were 25-20 26-24, 25-23.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire, trailing 1-0 in the match, held a 23-19 lead in the second set, but a 7-1 run from Bentley - with two kills form Rachel Vitko and four Penmen errors - gave the visitors a 2-0 lead in the match.
  • SNHU again owned a 22-20 edge looking to stave off the Falcons in the third set, but Bentley took advantage of three Penmen errors to craft a match-ending 5-1 run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Seniors Grace Pierce (Fairfax, Va.) and Ramona Fontaine (Chelsea, Mass.) both chipped in four kills, with Pierce adding six digs.
  • Bentley outhit SNHU in all three sets, as well as .264-.072 for the match.
  • The Falcons owned advantages in blocks (10-0) and aces (7-2).

  • Bentley has won nine of the last 11 meetings, including two-in-a-row.
