Kaplan Snags NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week Honors

Award comes on the heels of an 11-save shutout of Franklin Pierce

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Z Kaplan (Smithtown, N.Y.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending Sept. 26, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Kaplan played in one contest during SNHU's 2-0-0 week, registering a career-high 11 saves in Tuesday's 2-0 shutout of Franklin Pierce University.

The Penmen are 7-0-0 for the first time since 1994 and have recorded five clean sheets. Kaplan is 5-0-0 with a 0.40 goals-against average, .900 save percentage and three shutouts, as they have stopped 18 of 20 shots. They lead the league in GAA, while ranking second in save percentage, wins, shutouts and goals allowed.

Kaplan and the Penmen return to action Wednesday, Sept. 29 (4 p.m.) when they take on Stonehill College.
