KEY MOMENTS
- With the Penmen hitting eight of its first 13 field goals - SNHU took a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and never trailed in the game.
- SNHU opened a 12-point lead at 30-18 early in the second quarter on a jumper by Russell. The Penmen finished the first half 14-26 shooting (4-of-7 three-pointers)
- A Ziliak hoop with 6:56 to play in the third quarter made it 49-29 its largest lead of the night.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Danielle Sirois (Pelham, N.H.) tallied five points and pulled down four boards.
- Junior Ariana Koivisto (Pomfret, Conn.) did not score, but did pull down nine rebounds
- SNHU outshot AIC, 50.0 percent (25-50) to 36.2 percent (21-58) from the field, including 37.5 percent (6-16) to 7.1 percent (1-14) from beyond the arc.
- Nora Young led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points.
- The Penmen won the glass (40-26), with Knollmeyer pulling down 10 rebounds.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which is receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25, is ranked 18th in the D2SIDA poll of media members.
- The Penmen defeated the Yellow Jackets for a fifth straight time. AIC leads the all-time series 25-15.
- Russell is the only Penmen to have scored in double figures in all eleven games this season. She leads the team with 14.7 points per game.
- It was the sixth double-double of the season for Knollmeyer.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen return to action Saturday, January 22 (1:30 p.m.) when they play host to The College of Saint Rose at the Stan Spirou Field House as part of a doubleheader with the SNHU men. Fans attending will be required to a face mask, regardless of vaccination status. The concession stand will be closed.
